3. Areas of Focus

(1) Perinatal care

As a comprehensive perinatal medical center, along with actively accepting pregnant women transported by ambulance, we provide medical care for high-risk pregnancies in a maternal-fetal intensive care unit(M-FICU)and advanced medical care for newborns requiring treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The “Obstetrics & Gynecology regional medical care cooperation system (the Ohtsuka model)”, which was designed to coordinate the efforts of local obstetrics and gynecology clinics, is utilized to develop a network for effective and efficient utilization of perinatal care resources.

(2) Pediatric care

Secondary pediatric emergency care patients are treated in combination with operations that provide initial emergency pediatric care. We also provide treatment for concomitant illnesses and dental treatment for children and individuals with disabilities that are not possible at local medical clinics and regular dental facilities. Active support is also provided for transferring children and individuals with severe motor and intellectual disabilities (SMID) to home care environments.

(3) Emergency care

Making full use of our comprehensive medical care infrastructure, we provide care for emergency patients, centering on children, the elderly, patients with intractable diseases and the disabled.
As an institution designated to provide secondary emergency care, all our departments cooperate together centered on the emergency department, to accept emergency patients with the aim to be an emergency center that does not turn away patients in need.

(4) Cancer care

Through collaboration with various departments, the palliative care team, and others, we provide comprehensive cancer care for patients including the elderly and those with concomitant illnesses.

(5) Pediatric psychiatry (outpatient clinic)

As a center for pediatric psychiatry in the special-ward area of Tokyo, we provide dedicated pediatric psychiatry outpatient services to treat various psychiatric disorders such as developmental disabilities. We also offer day care services for children with developmental disabilities.
