Visiting patients

Visiting hours are generally from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This may be changed to suit the patient’s circumstances. Please consult a nurse concerning any possible flexibility.
Patient visits may be restricted depending on the patient’s condition or the circumstances in the hospital room.
When visiting a patient, first complete the specified procedure at the first floor No. 10 “Visitor Reception” Counter (Security Office).
As a rule, only parents, grandparents, and siblings of elementary school age or older are permitted to visit the patient.
To prevent hospital-acquired infection, preschool children, those with an infection such as a cold, the measles, or chicken pox, and those who have been in contact with someone with one of the above or another type of infection are not permitted to visit.
As a rule, due to lack of space and to prevent interference with treatment, only two people can enter the hospital room at the same time.

* Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Ward (Kokoro Ward)
Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the Oka no 4-Banchi ward and generally from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for all other Kokoro wards (with the exception of ward program times for each ward).
Please note that visiting hours may vary depending on the patient’s condition.
Please consult the primary physician in advance if someone other than a parent or guardian wishes to visit.

* Patients staying in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or high care unit (HCU)
 Visiting hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (excluding the hour between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.).
Only parents, grandparents, and siblings of middle school age or older are permitted to visit the patient (only two people may enter the room at the same time).
Please note that visitation may be restricted depending on the condition and/or treatment protocol of other patients.

* Neonatal wards (neonatal intensive care unit [NICU]/ growing care unit [GCU])
As a rule, only parents are allowed to visit.
Grandparents may only visit after the parents’ first visit, provided permission has been granted by the parents. Only one parent and one grandparent (two individuals) may enter the room at the same time. Please note that grandparents may not enter without one of the parents.
Visiting is generally permitted 24-hours-a-day, but may be restricted for the patient’s checkup, any treatments required, or some other reason.

Because parking space is limited, it is preferable for visitors to come to the hospital by public transportation.

Family members staying with the patient

Nurses will provide nursing care during hospitalization, so family members do not need to stay with the patient. However, if a family member requests to stay with the patient for reasons such as the patient’s condition or other circumstances, please consult the doctor or nurse.
Please note that depending on the patient’s condition or the circumstances in the hospital room, it may not be possible to fulfill such a request.
