“がんの心理学、社会学、行動学的側面を扱う学問”であるサイコオンコロジーの考えにのっとり、“がん”が“こころ”の与える影響と同時に、“こころ”が“がん”に与える影響を調査検討する臨床研究を継続しておこなっています。
癌に罹患したことによる心理状態の実態調査、がん治療の副作用として出現する精神症状に対する有効な治療法の確立、また患者さんの心理状態・病気への取り組み方・生活行動様式が、治療有効性や生存率にどのような影響を及ぼしているかということが、研究のテーマになっています。

Psychiatry Division
The Psychiatry Division consists of three attending psychiatrists, one part-time psychiatrist and three clinical psychologists.
The Psychiatry Division provides three services that are consultation for referred inpatients, psychiatric liaison for cancer patients and a clinic for outpatients. About 950 referrals are made for the psychiatric consultation per year. Psychiatric liaison for cancer patients especially for Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation cases is one of the most important activities of our division. In addition to this, we launched Psychiatric Liaison Team in 2014.
Furthermore, we have the section named “Kokoro-no-Sodanshitsu” that is aimed to support patients and patients’ families for their social problems as well as their psychological problems.
