Gastroenterology

Gastroenterology

Our department provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care across the full spectrum of gastroenterology. During endoscopic examinations, we prioritize patient comfort, and commonly offer intravenous sedation (Dormicum) for individuals who feel anxious. Our therapeutic services include hemostasis for gastrointestinal bleeding, ligation and sclerotherapy for esophageal varices, endoscopic sphincterotomy and lithotripsy for gallstones, stent placement for malignant biliary strictures, and colorectal polyps. For early-stage gastrointestinal cancers, we work closely with surgical colleagues and also perform endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). With strong support from our nephrology team, we actively perform endoscopic procedures for patients undergoing dialysis.
Since the hospital’s opening, we have placed great emphasis on abdominal ultrasonography. Physicians and sonographers collaborate closely to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results. For patients with liver diseases, we provide coordinated multidisciplinary care in partnership with part-time hepatology specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
